Description

The cleaning that NGC denotes looks more to be a sea salvaged example as a large portion of the mintage of this issue were on the ship "Fame" when it sank outside Cape Town on 14 June 1822. Some porosity in the surface which is common for sea salvaged gold coins, but not really any hairlines that would otherwise be more associated with regular cleaning.
